Privacy Policy
Last updated: 14 September 2026
This policy explains what personal information Kiara Photography collects through this website, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do about it. It applies to this website and to enquiries made through it.
Who we are
Kiara Photography (“we”, “us”) is a wedding photography business. We are the data controller for the information described below. You can reach us at hello@example.com.
The information we collect
We collect only what you choose to give us, together with the standard technical data every website receives.
- Enquiry form — your name, email address, phone number, wedding date, location, estimated guest count, how you heard about us, and anything you write in the message.
- Newsletter signup — your name and email address.
- Blog comments — your name, email address, website if you give one, the comment itself, and your IP address.
- Server logs — our web host records the usual technical details of each request: IP address, the page requested, and your browser and device type.
We do not collect payment details through this website.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
- To answer your enquiry and discuss your wedding — our legitimate interest in replying to someone who has contacted us, and the steps leading to a contract.
- To send the newsletter — your consent, which you can withdraw at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email.
- To publish and moderate comments — your consent when you submit one.
- To keep the site secure and running — our legitimate interest in operating the website.
Photographs and image use
If you book us, the photographs taken at your wedding are governed by your booking contract rather than by this policy. That contract sets out whether we may show your photographs in our portfolio, on this website, on social media, or in press and competition submissions.
If you would rather your photographs were not shown publicly, tell us at any point — before or after the day — and we will take them down.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not lead to a booking — 12 months, then deleted.
- Booking records — for as long as we need them to provide the service, then for as long as tax and accounting rules require us to keep them.
- Newsletter subscribers — until you unsubscribe.
- Comments — indefinitely, unless you ask us to remove one.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for anyone else’s marketing. We do use a small number of providers who process it on our behalf:
- Our web host — website and database hosting
- Our email provider — enquiry and newsletter delivery
- Our client gallery provider — client gallery delivery
Each is bound to use your information only as we instruct. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.
Cookies
This website uses very few cookies. The only ones it sets are the essential ones WordPress needs to run: a session cookie if you log in, and — if you tick the box when leaving a comment — one that remembers your name and email so you do not have to type them again. Leave the box unticked and no comment cookie is set.
We do not use advertising, tracking or profiling cookies, and we do not run third-party analytics. Because essential cookies do not require consent, you will not see a cookie banner on this site. [IF YOU ADD ANALYTICS, ADVERTISING, EMBEDDED VIDEO OR SOCIAL FEEDS, THOSE SET NON-ESSENTIAL COOKIES: YOU WILL NEED A CONSENT BANNER AND SHOULD DESCRIBE THEM HERE.]
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the site may stop working if you do.
Where your information is stored
Our providers may store or process information in countries other than your own. Where they do, the transfer is covered by appropriate safeguards, such as an adequacy decision or standard contractual clauses, which are intended to give your information the same protection it has at home.
Your rights
Under data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
- have anything inaccurate corrected
- ask us to delete it
- object to how we use it, or ask us to restrict it
- receive it in a portable format
- withdraw your consent at any time, where consent is what we relied on
Ask us at hello@example.com and we will respond within one month. There is no charge.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of the page, and flag anything substantial on the website.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we have the chance to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the data protection authority for your country or state.

Note for theme users: this page is demo content supplied with the theme. Before you publish it, add your registered business name, postal address and telephone number, name your hosting, email and gallery providers, and say which data protection authority people can complain to. Check that the sections on forms, cookies and providers describe what your site actually does — if you add analytics, embedded video or social feeds you will also need a cookie banner — and if you collect information from people in the United States, check whether state privacy laws such as the CCPA call for extra disclosures. Have the wording reviewed by a qualified lawyer before you rely on it. It is a starting point, not legal advice.
